Idleminer has recently released Everest Hand Grabber, which is the first publicly available handgrabber that can datamine Everest Poker.

At the moment they are giving it away for free. This will not last forever, so it may be a good idea to grab it now and start datamining right away, just in case you want to play to Everest Poker in the future – After all, it is free.

While it is obviously nice to get a free handgrabber, the biggest benefit is actually that since the it previously wasn’t possible to datamine on Everest Poker, there are very few people doing it. This means that the advantage you will get by datamining on Everest Poker will be much bigger than at a site like Bodog Poker, where everyone is doing it.

You will be getting information, that almost no other players have, so if you combine the handgrabber with a table selection tool like EverestEye, you will have a huge advantage.

Datamining Everest Poker

Everest Poker Hand Grabber is very easy to set up and use, you literally only have to install the handgrabber and press a button, and it will start datamining every Everest Poker table that you open.

If you are datamining Everest Poker, you should strongly consider trying out the 8 day free trial of EverestEye from SpadeIT.

It is basically a little program that will scan the Everest Poker lobby and use data from your Holdem Manager or Pokertracker database to identify tables with bad players.

Some Feedback September 12, 2009 at 12:52 pm

I’m using the handgrabber for Omaha high, it works fine but I noticed some bugs:
- game should be game=”omaha-hi” instead of game=”omaha” for omaha high or pokertracker will not import the files.
- only 2 pocket cards are recorded instead of 4

Thanks a lot for posting this – I didn’t know that they had added Omaha support :)

I have passed the bugs along to Idleminer, so they can fix them before they release the handgrabber for sale.

Working? February 8, 2010 at 9:58 pm

Program don’t seem to work? It says the hands are being saved but there is no textfile in the directory I’ve choosed.

I tested it recently with no problems.

I’ll check if I’m having issues later – In the meantime may want to try disabling your antivirus program.

I have just tested the Everest handgrabber again, and it works as it is supposed to.

The hand histories were saved in the folder I specified and I had no issues importing them in Holdem Manager.

If I had to guess, I would say it is your antivirus program that is causing havoc :-)

Really strange, i just changed the directory for saving txt-files and now it seems to work!

Really neat program, you don’t have a workaround to mine more than 10 tables? :)

Would be awesome with an option for simulate a active user, if you datamine for a while Everest notices if you don’t do anything and closes down.

I’m myself a software developer in the beginning and would love to make a project like this.

Unfortunately there are no workaround for the tables, and no table opener either – It is still in beta though, so they may end up including it later :-)

I keep posting here until you give me a e-mail or forum :)

I find the software really nice, but I have found one problem. The hands that gets logged, when I later try to import them to PT3 they show up as NL100 FR hands in MY statistic.

I have filtered out this month and the hands starts showing up yesterday (when I installed the hand grabber)

any solution to this?

MP February 10, 2010 at 9:17 pm

Maybe I need to say the hands i grab are NL100 SH and thats the one I play!

Find the difference between your own hand histories and the datamined ones and send Idleminer a bug report with the information so they can fix it.

I haven’t been using Pokertracker for a couple of months, and don’t remember how the filters for the stats displayed in the HUD work, but I’m pretty sure the work based on the number of players in the hand, not the amount of seats at the table, so you shouldn’t have any problems with the hands, except them showing up as being fullring when you look at the reports.
